Question: How do commercial airplanes work? Answer: I'm not sure what you're asking but most of them work by filling as many seats as possible with paying customers and then turning thousands of pounds of Jet A into noise. If you're really lucky, you'll get to somewhere near where you want to go within a few days of the scheduled arrival. Occasionally, your checked bags will surface again sometime in your lifetime. Most of the airlines spend a great deal of time and money training their staff to be rude and surly, so be sure to appreciate them. Their airplanes work just like any other airplane except airliners NEVER break...it's ALWAYS the weather causing the delay...and therefore not THEIR fault
