Question: i live with my brother to watch his 10 year old daughter and 8 year old son...they are so ungrateful, and bratty and spoiled i cant handle it anymore. ive been thr for 7 months and they are drivin me insane! ive talked to my brother and his wife and even to the kids but it doesnt work. when i yell, they yell back. when im stern they dont listen. when i try to talk to them they dont listen. they never listen to a thing i tell them to do. i try being nice. i just dont know how to handle them. i am 16 years old and i need some serious adivse. Answer: You're too close to their age to be an authority figure, especially if your brother and his wife aren't backing you. The most you can do is hang out with the kids - watch a movie, help with their homework, make dinner with / for them. Watching 2 kids that age is a really big responsibility for someone your age.
