Question: They share the same room. He keeps climbing out of his bed into his sisters crib. We have tried Time Out, biting him back, spanking him, putting him down after she is already asleep, and putting him down first (he just bites her when he wakes up) spending more time with him just one on one. HELP!! Answer: Oh my God please do not try hot sauce as one person suggested. Hot sauce can do more than taste bad to them; it hurts and it hurts for more than just a second it lingers. Not only that, I read about one child whose parents punished him in this way and his airway tightened to the point that he could not breathe and he died. Giving hot sauce to a child is a cruel and unnnecessary form of punishment. Separate the children. You may have to sacrifice your own room for a while in order to stop the child from hurting the little one. If he prefers to be with you, Make him stay by himself and bring the other one to you. If he prefers to be alone, bring him with you. Do this for as long as it takes so he sees that it will not be tolerated and that you will not cave.
