Question: Since I have never gone into labour on my own and I am pregnant with my second child. I was wondering, if my water breaks while I am sleeping or sitting on the couch for example how do you clean that up? Does amniotic fluid stain? Answer: Amniotic fluid contains proteins, carbohydrates, urea and lipids, and while it might not stain your couch, it does smell a bit. I think you'll have other things on your mind when the moment happens, to be honest. Ordinary household cleaners should clean it up fine.
